Davron Pumpset Test Facility

The Davron pumpset test bay allows Davron to conduct performance and endurance tests on our locally manufactured pumpsets. These tests are done after the manufacturing and assembly of the pumpset has been completed. The pump is subject to performance testing whilst using the job specific driver to run the pump. The aim of the pump test is to prove and confirm that the pump meets the required performance criteria of the order and that the pump and driver combination are suitably sized to run as a unit for the required duty. These tests are done prior to the pumps being dispatched to avoid pumps arriving at site with performance issues. Due to the many variables and unknown conditions on site, it is more accurate and reliable to conduct the tests on a testbed with known installation and system details.

Should the pumpsets be sold and manufactured to the ASIB set of rules, the pumps will be subject to the required performance and 6 hour endurance tests as standard. These performance and 6 hour endurance tests can either be witnessed by the ASIB in person or the tests can be witnessed from a remote location.

Where clients want to witness the testing of pumps which they have ordered, and where the clients are not able to travel to Davron on the day of test, the client can witness the pump tests from a remote location. Where witnessed testing is noted as a requirement by the client, Log in details will be sent out in advance of the test. These log in details will allow the clients to log in and witness the test results being generated and recorded.

Typical tests that can be conducted on the Davron pumpset test bed:

  • Performance (flow and pressure) testing of pump to ISO 9906 Grade 2U
  • 6 hour Endurance / Mechanical run tests
  • Client specific FAT tests
  • NPSH testing if / when requested by the specification

Davron pumpset test bay typical testing capability

  • Flows up to 14000l/m
  • Electric Motors up to and including 110kw

Where the Davron test bay cannot accommodate the pumpset due to size or duty requirements, these pumpsets will be tested at alternate approved pumpset test bay facilities.

The Davron pumpset test bed is an ASIB approved testing facility.

Training Facility

Davron invest in their staff, as they believe their staff are key to the company mission.

Well trained staff will be motivated, confident and able to provide the clients with the required service levels. Davron put together a training facility, with the aim of providing hands on training to all staff, ensuring that they are well trained and fully aware of the Davron standards which are to be delivered at site. Our training room is set up in a similar manner to an actual pump room. Panels installed are powered up, and are connected to electrically driven pumps. The pumps are set up to simulate the operation of the electrical, diesel and jockey pumps at site, and we also simulate the operation of floats and the auto start arrangement. We believe that the set up will help all attendee’s fully understand how the pumps and associated equipment operate in a pump room.
